What We Do
We Turn Methionine Dependence Into a Therapeutic Advantage
Cancer cells have an unusually high requirement for methionine, which is a weakness we can directly target. Our solution is methioninase, a recombinant enzyme that rapidly lowers methionine levels in the bloodstream, slowing tumor growth and making cancer cells far more responsive to treatment.
Dietary restriction alone can reduce methionine but is difficult to sustain and often insufficient. Methioninase achieves much deeper, more consistent methionine depletion, producing stronger anticancer effects across many tumor types.
By exploiting this metabolic vulnerability, we aim to enhance standard therapies, overcome resistance, and offer a new, broadly applicable enhancement in cancer treatment.
